Bring out the long underwear!Find your favorite scraps o' fabric!
It's time for a lesson in Traditional Motifa Costume!
For this project we dug through our vast chest of craft supplies and found the hottest pieces of fabric in our collection. All you need to make any of these articles of clothing is a single piece of cloth that is rectangular rather than square. The length varies with your own Motifa-riffic sense of style, so choose whichever scrap you like best! Each costume
Here are five fabulous fashion essentials for every Motifa's closet:
Fashion Essential 1: The Classic Neck Warmer
With the weather turning chilly and all of my winter wear back in J-town, this piece of apparel is an essential in my wardrobe. The Classic Neck Warmer is quickly becoming my signature neck wear! Not only does it effectively keep my neck toasty, but hellow, have you seen a hotter Neck Warmer this side of the Arctic Circle? I didn't think so.
Step 1: Gather your long scrap of fabric in both hands and wrap it around your neck.
Step 2: Tie it in a knot--Careful, not too tight! I use the knot which, if you have ever owned a pair of lace up sneakers, you are also familiar with. It is simple, quick and effective.
Step 3: Adjust the knot so that it is aesthetically pleasing. What looks good to you? Try twisting the knot to the back or to the left side for a completely different look! I enjoy tying my Neck Warmers so that one end is decidedly longer than the other. Using this style you can more easily pretend to be a runway model or Amelia Earhart! Ding! Let the theatrical side of your Queen Motifa shine!

Fashion Essential 2: La Bootifa Babushka
For some cold days, the Classic Neck Warmer alone may not protect you from the elements. For these days I have developed La Bootifa Babushka. This head wrap not only keeps the front of your neck warm, but also your cheeks and ears! Because it completely covers the top of the head, it also preserves your body heat and prevents this important energy from escaping! Ding! I suggest using a warmer or thicker fabric for this design.
Step 1: Fold your material into a triangular-ish shape.
Step 2: Wrap the triangle around your head--making sure the base points of the triangle end up beneath your chin.
Step 3: Tie the ends of the triangle in a single knot and drape the ends over your shoulder if desired.
Fashion Essential 3: Scrap-a-licious
A night on the town with Scrapalicious (and OH! What a night it will be)!!!!!
Are you thinking: "*%#%$!! I have NOTHING to wear for my hot date tonight!!!"? Well, think again girlfriend! Have we got a solution for you! This little number is guaranteed to attract all kinds of seedy
lustful men (and if you're lucky, maybe a few good ones too). ;-)
Step 1: Choose a fabric that you absolutely love! Make sure it is big enough to wrap around your bust. **After much research I have learned that it is best to cut the square of fabric into a triangle (rather than using a square folded into a triangle). The less fabric involved, the less avoid annoying slippage there will be while dancing or participating in strenuous activity.
Step 2:
Arrange the triangle across your chest and tie in a tight double knot. I find that it is easier to tie it in the front first and then slide the knot around to the back.
Step 3: Make sure the knot is very tight and partay!
WARNING: Cases of indecent exposure have been reported when Scrapalicious was not correctly secured. Although this always ended up being quite fun for all involved, we realize that some of you may not be looking to expose yourself to the world. We recommend that the more modest Queen Motifas have a "breast buddy" to alert them about boob poppage.
